Yowza! It's almost 2018, y'all!!
Here's to hoping for good luck and success to all of you this upcoming year! Let's do our best to make the best out of it!
In recent news:
- i got a long-distance boyfriend who's coming to visit me in two weeks. Very exciting!
- I bought a condo/townhouse half a year ago. I'm a homeowner now!
- I'm going to have to buy a new car soon. My sweet 17 year old car had a big fix this year, so it's come time to start looking and sorting out what I'll get. I'm thinking the Nissan Rogue, since the company I work for helps provide steel for Nissan and that model.
- Had some family drama, but it looks like it's getting sorted out now, Thank goodness!
- I gained weight again. Defo need to put into action some sort or regiment to actually lose weight for the sake of being healthier. Wish me luck!

Blushies Galore and 365 Challenge

So, I don't know if you've noticed, but I've been drawing again. And I've been drawing Blushies.
What are Blushies? CHECK THEM OUT! THEY'RE ADORABLE!!!
Anywho, been quiet for a long time: I'm so sorry about that. Work has been hectic and busy, and I really haven't drawn much in the last year. I could probably count on both of my hands how much I've drawn in all of 2016.
BUT I INTEND TO CHANGE THAT FOR 2017
That's right, folks. I'm going to do that thing again: the 365 Day Challenge. I'm probably going to want to bash my head into a desk later for saying this, BUT I AM GOING TO DO IT.
I probably won't post everything on here because it'll probably be sketch after sketch after sketch. I need to fix my computer: that's part of the reason I haven't been drawing as much, but the TL;DNR version is I tried to update to Windows 10 and the computer 'sploded. Once I get that bad boy fixed, I'll be able to scan things again (yippee!) and also upload stuff rather than taking a photo with my phone.
I know 2016 has been a bit crappy for a lot of folks, but I'm hoping we can make 2017 a better year for not only ourselves, but also for others. I'll try to upload art as soon as I can build myself a better PC (you heard me!), but in the meantime I'll try to not be lazy and post art on my Instagram (my IG is "chiyokins", surprise, surprise!)

A Quick Update

Sorry I've been so inactive here lately. I'm afraid that work has been working me really hard. I get paid hourly and suffice to say that I've worked enough overtime that I've got some cash to spare, which is great because I'm planning on flying out to visit my grandma next year.
Also, seeing as I now have money, I can actually buy my family gifts for Christmas. What a thought!
So what else has been going on?
I successfully got through all of Inktober, though I haven't gotten around to sitting down and scanning everything so I can post it here. Would y'all like to see what I did? I posted everything I did on Tumblr, and everything that was done with copics on my Instagram (chiyokins). It was a great exercise and I loved it, but once November rolled around my boss felt I was doing a good enough job to warrant me getting more responsibilities.
Pros to getting more responsibilities: this means my boss trusts me.
Cons to getting more responsibilities: Chiyo is working a lot more hours.
Pros to working a lot more hours: I get more moneys.
Cons to working a lot more hours: I have no life.
I'm just glad I have a job, really. And a safe place to live.
With the colder weather, however, I got to deal with my first frost on the windshield of my car. We don't have covered parking in my complex, so that night I had to go buy my first ice scraper. Let me tell you: it's worth paying the extra two dollars to get the larger scraper with the longer handle. I was cheap and bought the little one, which is cute and small... but it's hard to reach across the hood to get to the center of the windshield with it. lol. I'll see how long I last with it before I succumb and buy a larger one.
So what else have I been doing aside from work?
I bought Eldritch Horror, which is the most difficult and yet fun boardgame I've ever played and I love it. A pair of friends are coming to stay with me this weekend and we're going to play it. I am soooo stoked to finally get to play it with someone else instead of just, y'know, myself. (Gosh that sounds lonely.)
Well, time to clean the apartment while I can before my friends come to visit! I hope y'all are doing well and hopefully I can post some art on here again soon!

OC Inktober

Hello, my lovelies!
As you might have noticed, I haven't been very actively lately. Work has been keeping me extremely busy and I typically come home tired after the hour long drive from work. Add in grocery shopping and cooking a meal and I've got practically no time for myself. The only way to have more time? Get less sleep.
I rather like my sleep, thanks.
Anywho, last year there was Inktober, and this year OC October is making the rounds on Tumblr. I wanted to do Inktober last year, but I chickened out. This year, however, I've decided that I'm going to follow the theme of OC October, but do everything in ink!
Now that I've got my scanner set up, I should be able to scan everything and post it here as well!
As an added challenge, I've decided that I'm going to do all my OC's from my oldest to my newest and work from there. I think it'll be really good to refresh myself on some of my older characters. I might try to flesh them out a bit more and maybe write a miniature bio about them when I get the chance. So far I have a list far longer than 31 days, but I'm slowly trimming it down to just the characters that have a more cemented backstory and such.
